Meller Microlux alumina abrasives are a line of high-purity calcined alumina polishing abrasives. Available in agglomerated and de-agglomerated grades for grinding, lapping and finishing optics made from calcium fluoride, germanium, silicon, zinc selenide, zinc sulfide, stainless steel and other substrates, the abrasives are supplied either as powders for mixing with de-ionized water or pre-mixed. Featuring large particles that begin grinding and lapping very aggressively and then break down under final polishing, Microlux-R is agglomerated and 99.98% pure. Microlux-RZ, the de-agglomerated grade, is 99.99% pure and recommended for fine grinding and uniform polishing. Both are offered in seven particle sizes from 0.05–3.0 µm.
