Porex Filtration Division’s cross-flow Tubular Membrane Module features 61 ½-inch diameter tubes in a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane that is anchored or chemically fused to a sintered porous plastic substrate tube. The patented membrane/substrate composite is designed to resist damage from scratching and abrasion, and tolerate high pressure in forward and reverse flow conditions. The modules are designed for cross-flow filtration in the micro- and ultrafiltration range. The 61-tube configuration provides 45.75 sq ft of high-solids-concentrating surface area per module.
Applications for the modules include water and wastewater, lime softening, pre-reverse osmosis, heavy metals removal, chemical mechanical polishing and sawing and grinding wastewater, fluoride removal, and oil/water separation. The system also allows for recycling and re-use of industrial wastewater.
