PPG Industries’ Spectracron 380 Poly-Iothane High-Solids Series coatings are two-component polyester polyurethane enamel coatings designed to provide corrosion resistance for metal or over primer-coated metal surfaces. Because of the enhanced surface protection and durability in industrial and architectural environments, these coatings are designed for use on hydraulic pumps, trucks and trailer frames, water and gas meters, agricultural and construction equipment and metal framing assemblies for commercial rooftop heating, ventilation and air-conditioning units. These coatings are available in a range of glosses and standard and custom colors, including metallic and clear-coat finishes, and are formulated to withstand exposure to chemicals, abrasion and impact. The coatings can be applied using most conventional spray equipment, including air, airless, air-assisted and electrostatic tools. The company says these products can be used over cleaned and blasted steel, top-coated over surfaces that have not been sanded or abraded, or as clear coats to protect steel from oxidation prior to fabrication.
