The PAS II~III PLC from Anodize USA is designed to perform both type II and type III anodizing regardless of alloy. The system operates on a relatively simple principle: the amps/sq. ft. are measured in the anodizing tank, and that data is transmitted wireless to the programmable logic controller (PLC) so that it can make adjustments to the amount of current sent through the anodizing solution and the items being anodized.

The system consists of two parts: a remote unit which hangs in the anodizing tank and transmits the actual amps/sq. ft. reading for the process, and a base unit which houses the PLC, touch-screen display, radio receiver for the actual amps/sq. ft. value and DC power supply. The unit requires a simple calibration to the PLC on initial set up and on an annual basis.

The PLC handles recipes, step ramping, customer and job information, 720 rule/alloy adjustments, and downloads to a PC. According to the company, it is simple to operate and can be set up for remote troubleshooting.
