Rex-Cut Abrasive’s Type 27 cotton fiber grinding wheels are designed to remove filet welds on stainless steel and aluminum and produce food-grade finishes in one step. The wheels feature multiple layers of cotton fiber that are impregnated with aluminum oxide grains and then pressed and bonded together. They constantly reveal fresh abrasives to provide smooth, controlled grinding action and can grind with both the side and face.
The grinding wheels are available in 4 1/2-, 5- and 7-inch sizes, 3/16- and ¼-inch thick, with A36 or A54 grit sizes and a GFX latex bond. According to the company, they provide finer finishes than comparable wheels and are non-loading on aluminum.
