Berol CLF by AkzoNobel is a synergistic surfactant blend that provides low-foaming, water-based degreasing performance that is superior in many cases to solvent-based cleaning formulations, but without the VOC hazard, the company says. Based on the industry standard Berol 226 SA surfactant technology platform, Berol CLF
has demonstrated the non-mechanical degreasing performance of Berol 226 SA while generating zero foam even under intense agitation.
Berol CLF blends the low-foaming capability of a nonionic surfactant with a cationic hydrotrope in formulations that deliver high-performance, solvent-free degreasing power to applications requiring low or no foam. Berol CLF is designed to be used as the sole surfactant, together with chelating agents and/or builders in aqueous systems. Especially useful for high-shear environments, its applications include metal parts washing, machine floor scrubbing, clean-in-place applications, metalworking fluids, and other heavy-duty I&I uses where low or zero foam is critical.
The blend is biodegradable and can be used in alkaline, neutral and acidic formulations.
