Highway Holdings Ltd. says it has developed a low-cost proprietary liquid carbon dioxide cooling system to be used for CO2-based cleaning applications. The new technology is designed to lower the cost of the system and require less space than other products, with a design that enables incorporation directly into the spray gun.

The company also plans to expand the scope of its CO2 cleaning equipment to include both the dry ice and snow-jet cleaning processes.

In 2013, Highway Holdings manufactured and marketed a series of proprietary CO2 snow-jet cleaning systems in Asia for industrial and commercial cleaning applications after forming a joint venture with Advanced Cleaning Innovation Asia and ACI Systems GmbH in Germany.

The company says its CO2 snow-jet cleaning machine differs from other systems currently on the market due, in part, to nozzle technology developed in collaboration with the founders of the ACI Group at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany.  The technology is said to optimize the cleaning process by minimizing CO2 consumption and eliminating the negative “wet” condensation effect of other CO2-based cleaning machines on the market.
