Technic Inc.’s Auroguard NP-12 is a non-aqueous post-treatment designed to improve the wear-resistance and functionality of gold electroplated connectors. It is the latest release in the company’s Goldeneye gold-reduction technology platform.
Auroguard NP-12 provides a protective coating on the surface of gold-plated contacts used in connector applications, improving gold-deposit quality and enabling application of a reduced gold thickness without any decrease in deposit performance, the company says. The product’s chemistry is non-flammable and halogen-free, and the coating is thermally stable and able to withstand thermal exposures as high as 260°C.
