The Elmasonic S series benchtop ultrasonic cleaner from Tovatech operates in three modes—Sweep, Degas and Normal—for efficient cleaning, degassing and mixing/dissolving/dispersion, respectively.
According to the company, cleaning is optimized in Sweep mode, which continuously shifts the sound field maxima, guaranteeing a homogeneous sound field. Fresh cleaning liquid does not clean efficiently until fully degassed, as dissolved gas suppresses cavitation, so the Degas function accelerates the degassing process. In Normal mode, the cleaner mixes, disperses, emulsifies and dissolves samples.
The Autostart feature enables the ultrasonics to begin running after the bath reaches a set temperature. The Autodegas control, which is recommended before starting the cleaning process, runs the unit in pulsed mode for 10 minutes to remove gas bubbles from the solution. An LED displays show the set temperature, actual temperature, set cleaning period and time remaining.
The Elmasonic S range is available in 13 different sizes from 0.5 to 90 L. Accessories include baskets with plastic-coated handles, clamps for Erlenmeyer flasks, acid-proof tanks and holders for HPLC solvent flasks. A noise-reducing cover can be flipped over and used as a tray and drip-off basin.
