TQC Gloss Meters Measure Surface Reflection

Gloss meters from TQC are designed to accurately measure the specular reflection of a surface, enabling users to then define the gloss level of that material.

Gloss meters from TQC are designed to accurately measure the specular reflection of a surface, enabling users to then define the gloss level of that material.

The meters are available in three models: the Sologloss meter measures at a 60-degree angle, the Duogloss at 60/20 degrees and the Polygloss at 60/20/85 degrees. According to TQC, the 60-degree angle can be used for virtually any surface, from matte to glossy; while the 20-degree angle is ideal for more accurate measurements on high-gloss surfaces, and the 85-degree angle is best-suited for low-gloss or matte surfaces.

Applications vary from quality control in surface finishing lines to production control in plastic fabrication plants. Gloss meters are used to test automotive interior and exterior parts, furniture, white goods, building materials, and more.
