The TruMark 6350 laser from Trumpf works at a wavelength of 355 nm in the UV range and provides a marking field size of 80 × 80 mm. It is said to provide improved marking results, often at higher processing speeds, without the need for laser-sensitive additives in the substrate. The increased pulse peak power and pulse energy increase mark contrast across a range of materials, especially in applications such as color change on plastics and glass marking. According to the company, the passively cooled laser reduces the time needed to achieve the ideal crystal temperature prior to marking and limits temperature influences on the process.
