Calvary Industries’ Advantech series of water-based pretreatments is based on transitional metal chemistry such as zirconium and titanium, but have eliminated the issues associated with these types of products. Approved for use in appliance, motorsports and UL applications, the products are formulated to perform in all water conditions and are compatible with all ferrous and non-ferrous metallic substrates, enabling e-coat, powder coat and liquid topcoat on the same pretreatment. Accommodating a variety of operating bath pH, the pretreatment is designed to remain effective when contaminated with soils as well as cleaner that has been transferred from excessive carryout. According to the company, the series can replace iron and zinc phosphates under e-coat and powder coatings, and can also be dried in-house.
