The Yama Seiki AV860 APC is based on a high rigidity structure and a three-axis high precision linear guideway design to provide strong performance and precision, the company says. The AV series is highly accurate and efficient. Equipped with an automatic pallet changer system, it reduces cycle times to save costs. The APC system is driven by a servomotor that deploys four-piece tapered positioning blocks and hydraulic clamping force to eliminate gap and cutting vibration, while assuring accurate pallet positioning, the company says.

 

The pallet working table size is 31.5” × 18.1”, a rotation angle of 180 degrees, table loading of 441 pounds and has a pallet changing time of 7 seconds. The high torque belt-type spindle design provides 10,000 rpm with a Fanuc alpha 12i motor that outputs 20 hp. Using a 24 ATC that is standard, it provides short tool change time in 3 seconds and is designed for reliability. X, Y and Z travel measures at 33.9” × 23.6” × 23.6”, with rapid traverses of the X, Y axes at 1,890 ipm and Z axis at 1,260 ipm. All casting components are created using the finite element method (FEM) analysis to ensure optimal machine design and structural rigidity, the company says.
