A Special Message from Atotech North America

ATOTECH - Technology for Tomorrow's Solutions

Atotech is one of the world’s leading suppliers of specialty chemicals, equipment, service and solutions for printed circuit board, advanced packaging and semiconductor manufacturing, as well as decorative and functional surface finishing.

Atotech Sustainable Development

Atotech Sustainable Development

Sustainable Development

Sustainable development means achieving a harmonious balance between people's needs and the Earth's resources, the balance between benefits and costs on both a short- and long-term basis. This is a more global and integrated way of managing the responsibilities of an international company like Atotech. Wherever Atotech is doing business, sustainable development is always integrated in a very transparent way into our strategy and operations, our responsibilities and our economic, environmental and social commitments.

Leading the Change to Sustainable Technologies

The primary goal of our sustainability concept is to protect the environment, end users, production workers in the industries we serve, as well as our staff. To achieve this aim, we work intensively on developing green alternatives to the conventional processes and systems used in today’s plating industries. Our target is not only to comply with chemical regulations but to raise the standards even higher with our self-imposed commitment to eliminate all hazardous chemicals from our product range.

It is Atotech’s strategy to lead the change to sustainable plating technologies, and we already offer a comprehensive portfolio of environmentally-sound alternatives. With its strong focus on sustainable technologies, Atotech will continue to set benchmarks in the development of environmentally-sound plating processes.

Tech Centers

Atotech has a unique network of TechCenters around the world which guarantees an increased capability for customer support on a local level. The TechCenters are fully equipped with pilot plating lines and offer analytical and materials science methods for all kinds of testing.

In addition, TechCenters play a crucial role in the introduction and establishment of new, more environmentally-friendly processes and production solutions. Our green technologies are the result of intense R&D efforts and a genuine commitment to sustainability, and they have increasingly gained customers’ trust due to many trials and demonstration runs at our TechCenters.

From Routine Analyses to Pilot Production

Production-sized pilot plating lines make it possible to carry out qualification runs under production scale conditions, customer sampling and pilot production. Our state-of-the-art analytical and materials sciences laboratories are fully equipped with cutting-edge scientific tools and allow for the examination of customer samples with routine analyses and sophisticated or even customized examinations.

Hands-on Training in a Production-scale Environment

Atotech TechCenters allow us to continually develop our internal expertise, to encourage the exchange of ideas, and to provide a platform for external training – which in turn helps improve the knowledge of our customers’ staff.

Best Support – Just Around the Corner

Thanks to Atotech's TechCenters, its R&D and customer support staff are always close at hand, supplying teams of experts that can provide support and consulting services in every business situation and for every technical requirement.

R&D as Key Role

Driving Innovation

Atotech provides its customers with innovative technologies, resulting from intense research and development efforts. To consistently stay one step ahead, Atotech considers R&D an essential tool in all of its strategic business activities and decisions. Being at the forefront of the next generation of technology is an extensive and cost-intensive exercise, but one supported by the company’s expenditures for scientific-support studies of the product and process-related development, continuous upgrade of its R&D facilities, the ever-increasing number of PhDs working on diverse R&D projects, and collaborations within the industries we serve to find future manufacturing solutions.

Scientific Expertise

Alongside leading manufacturers and OEMs, Atotech operates a global R&D network, which co-develops new production ideas in order to drive innovation. Atotech's global R&D teams seek out new paths and set benchmarks for the development of sustainable plating processes. Their skills are not only reflected in the quality of our products, but can also be seen in the steadily increasing number of Atotech patents.

Technology for Tomorrow’s Solutions

Atotech owns an extensive patent portfolio, a large part of which helps to protect proprietary green and future technologies. Additionally, an important part of the patent portfolio covers existing Atotech processes and equipment. In both process chemistry and equipment development, we focus on alternative manufacturing processes. These alternative processes include technologies which are environmentally friendlier, more cost-effective and offer a higher innovative technical benefit than conventional processes.

In-Depth R&D Partnerships

Atotech maintains close partnerships with customers and OEMs, institutes, universities and other companies to strengthen R&D activities and expedite the development of future technologies.
