NASF Taking Nominations for Industry Awards
At Sur/Fin 2017 in Atlanta, the NASF will again recognize strong leaders who have selflessly dedicated their time and resources to the surface finishing industry with a series of awards.
Lou Hirbour, former Technic VP, passes
Hirbour had been with Technic for 50 years, beginning as a salesman in the Northeast U.S. in 1961. In later years, he developed Technic’s West Coast regional sales operations and was instrumental in opening the Asian markets for Technic products.
Scrap/Rework Rate as a Pct of Shop Sales
We surveyed plating shops on their scrap and rework rates, and asked them to determine what it was as a percentage of overall sales. The Top Shops came in at a much higher rate of 4.0 percent, which may mean they scrutinize their finished parts more carefully.
