KYZEN Corporation is hosting a free “Clean and Green” seminar November 15-16 in Danbury, Connecticut, at the headquarters of Branson Ultrasonics Corp., to help participants learn more about solvent regulations.

The event will provide an in-depth overview of the latest changes in government regulations that are affecting users of n-propyl bromide, trichloroethylene and hydrofluorocarbon (nPB/TCE/HFC) chemistries in manufacturing facilities across the United States. It will include two days of training, with several technical sessions and hands-on testing throughout.

According to Kyzen, training sessions will include:

Recent U.S. Government/EPA Changes Concerning nPB/TCE Used in Manufacturing Operations. With the ever-tightening rules and regulations imposed on solvent cleaning by federal, state and other regional governing bodies, today’s solvents must be safe, efficient, effective and environmentally compliant, and provide the required performance level to meet the end user’s needs. Environmental/ health/safety concerns are paramount when selecting a solvent to meet the cleaning application. This session will provide a current comprehensive look at:

  • Current EPA/OSHA/NESHAP solvent regulations
  • Emerging new solvents (safety and performance)
  • Market trends for solvent cleaning

A Step-by-Step Guide to Help Prevent Corrosion at Your Manufacturing Facility. If you are fighting corrosion in your manufacturing facility, you are not alone. In this
educational and interactive session, we will provide an in-depth overview of the problem as well as an analysis of the required factors contributing to corrosion. You will also learn about the types of corrosion associated with the metal industry and the leading causes, as well as ways to minimize them.

Proven Processes for Precision Cleaning in the Industrial Environment. With the many advancements in industrial manufacturing, the need to precisely remove contaminants from substrates has increased. Use of ultrasonic energy in a tank filled with fluid, whether solvent- or water-based, allows the removal of such contaminants quickly and efficiently without damaging the substrate. This session will review how this is done and along with examples of applications in the medical, aerospace and metal processing industries.

Also available during the event will be a tour of the Branson facility and a chemistry demonstration. Participants can bring their own soiled parts and participate in live demonstrations with aqueous and solvent chemistries.

The event is free, but space is limited. For information, please visit kyzen.com/voc-free.
