Gainesville, Texas-based Polychem today launched its new collection of powder coatings, Urban Illusion, which the company says combines modern, trend driven colors with a patterned effect to give the illusion of texture, when they are actually smooth to the touch.

Created using polyester technology, Urban Illusion consists of 14 new shades, from a “sultry eggplant” to a “funky teal,” that are produced using two coats. The coatings have been created to offer a simple, two-step process to the coater, while providing the designer with the interesting finish they desire.
“After reviewing the color and effect trends we have seen over the last few years and identifying what our customers are asking for, the Urban Illusion Collection was a natural development” said Glynn Mason, president if IFS Coatings, the parent company of Polychem. “Our R&D team work hard to create new colors and finishes that will interest and excite our customers”.
Polychem specializes in color and effect creation, with over 15,000 existing colors and 11 different Polychem color collections. The collections contain a variety of colors and special effects, including textures, metallics, hammertones, silver veins and more.
Mason said the Polychem team works closely with customers to develop the exact shade and effect they require quickly and with flexibility. Polychem offers color creation, flexible batch sizes (5lbs upwards) and quick lead times, promising to “match it–make it-mail it” in only 5-7 days.
