Anoplate Corp., based in Syracuse, New York, recently celebrated a milestone when it processed the 1 millionth job order in company history. All 220-plus employees were treated to lunch prepared by the leadership team, led by company President Jim Stevenson. Each employee was also presented with a commemorative short in honor of the accomplishment.
Anoplate was founded in 1960 by Milt Stevenson Sr. and operates from a 104,000-square-foot facility, offering metal finishing services including plating of copper, nickel, chromium, zinc, silver, gold, cadmium and tin, as well as various types of anodizing of light metals, conversion coatings such as passivating and phosphating, dry film lubrication, small-lot painting, and vacuum impregnation.
The company’s growth phase began in the early 1970s. The firm's initial quality manual was issued in January 1976, and growth accelerated throughout the 1980s. Much of that growth came from Fortune 500 firms and their suppliers who demanded more formalized quality systems and strict compliance with specification requirements, the company says.
