Barn Door Hardware Maker Installs New Powder Line in Larger Facility
Goldberg Brothers anticipates a 30 percent boost in efficiency with the new powder system and a 15 percent reduction in energy consumption.
Barn door hardware manufacturer Goldberg Brothers Inc., one of the oldest continuously operating companies in Denver, Colorado, has moved into new headquarters and added a new powder coating line.
“We are thrilled to have a building that we own and can grow in,” says company President John Golesh. “This a great opportunity for us to set the course for our company’s future while remaining in the Denver area, where our business began.”
Prior to the move, Goldberg Brothers also ran an auxiliary facility in Golden, Colorado. Now all company operations are located under one roof.
Manufacturing equipment in the new facility includes a new powder coating line custom-made by Midwest Finishing Systems of Mishawaka, Indiana, where construction on the large semi-automated system began last summer. The equipment took nearly a month to transport and assemble in Goldberg Brothers’ new building, where it is now being used to wash and paint the steel components of its award-winning barn door hardware. Golesh said he anticipates a 30 percent boost in efficiency with the new powder coating system and a 15 percent reduction in energy consumption compared to the older equipment the company used at its previous factory.
The new 95,520-square-foot location provides the company with an additional 15,000 square feet of factory floor space. A large portion of the office space in the building will be leased to other small businesses, Golesh says.
