February Issue: AirCraft X-Ray Labs and Retro Powder Coating
The February issue of Products Finishing highlights a California painting and anodizing facility, and how to retrofit a powder coating facility.
Our February issue has several interesting articles about new approaches to coatings:
- The first is how Aircraft X-Ray Laboratories brought hi-tech to the plating shop. The new president made many significant changes to AXL, many of which have propelled the shop into becoming one of the premier facilities in the U.S. and earning it a Products Finishing Top Shops award from the annual benchmarking survey.
- We also feature how Pryority Powder Coating found a home in a vacant Piggly Wiggly store in the middle of a shopping strip. The owner of Covered Wagon Trailers in Fitzgerald, Georgia, wanted to explore adding a liquid coating line to its manufacturing capabilities at its facility that manufactures trailers for all types of industry, including hauling and food service trucks.
- We also announce the 2020 Finishing Hall of Fame inductees, as Brad Andreae, the late Dr. George Dubpernell, Jim Jones, the late Daniel Leonhardt and Clifford Roy are selected for the 2020 Finishing Hall of Fame inductee class.
- We have a conversation with Darren Williams, Ph.D, a professor of physical chemistry at Sam Houston State University, who will host the Product Quality Cleaning Workshop May 13-14, and chair the Products Finishing’s Parts Cleaning Conference at IMTS on Sept. 16.
