NASF Executive Vice President Christian Richter and Jeff Hannapel, NASF Vice President, will lead a panel discussion along with Janet Anderson, Ph.D., on the latest news regarding the PFAS/PFOS issue facing the finishing industry at SUR/FIN on Monday, June 3, at 2 p.m. The discussion immediately follows Anderson’s keynote address on the subject which begins at 1 p.m.

Richter recently spoke about the Anderson’s upcoming keynote and the panel discussion in Detroit when he discussed the latest regulatory issues facing the industry at the Atotech Automotive Conference.

He says the NASF and its member companies have a long history of environmental stewardship, and were the only industry in the U.S. to have requested a ban from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on the use of PFOS nearly 10 years ago.

Anderson, who is a senior consultant with Integral Consulting, is a human health toxicologist and environmental risk assessor, and her talk at SUR/FIN will be on “Emerging Concerns from PFAS and the Latest Developments.”

Anderson, Richter and Hannapel will follow her keynote with a panel discussion on how the PFAS/PFOS issue is effecting the U.S. and global surface finishing industry outlook.

The NASF has also created a special PFAS/PFOS resource page on their website at nasf.org/pfas/ and encourage anyone in the industry to review the comprehensive information and timelines on the issue.
