Executives from F.M. Callahan & Sons, an electroplating, anodizing and metal processing shop in Malden, MA, recently had the chance to meet and talk with entrepreneur (and big-time TV show hot) Donald Trump recently.

Company executives Eric Jacklin and George Abelli met with Trump during his visit to New Hampshire as he explored a possible run for the presidency, which he later declined. Trump gave a speech at a manufacturing facility in Newington, NH that design and makes tactical equipment used by the U.S. Department of Defense.

F.M. Callahan & Son provides the finishing services for the manufacturer and the DOD, which it has done since 1910 at their 40,000sf2 facility.

Jacklin, the company president, said his firm plates precious metals of silver and gold, electroless nickel, sulfamate nickel, zinc, copper tin and tin-leads. Their surface treatments include black oxide, pickling, passivating, iriditing and chromating. Their anodizing capacity is capable of large to small aluminum parts with many different dyed colors

“Having this potential presidential candidate show his support for manufacturing in this country was a positive gesture that we could only hope that others will follow,” says Jacklin.
