The average plating shop spent just over $586,000 on chemicals in 2017, with the median at $235,000. The Top Shops, however, spent roughly $760,000 on plating chemicals in the most recent Products Finishing Top Shops Benchmarking Survey, while the remaining 20th percentile averaged just $45,000 a year.
Products Finishing will showcase the best-run finishing shops in North America at the Top Shops Management Stage at Sur/Fin, where owners and managers will be on hand to discuss what makes their plating and anodizing operations some of the most efficient and profitable in the business.
