The SUR/FIN technical conference and trade show is the premiere conference for surface finishers in North America and globally. Already, many in the industry are planning to be in Chicago June 3-5 to take part in this event.

As the new president of the National Association for Surface Finishing and as the chairman of the SUR/FIN organizing committee, we encourage all platers and anodizers to come to the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, to see for themselves why this is an essential event for anyone in the surface finishing industry.

Here are five solid reasons we feel anyone in the surface finishing industry should be in Chicago in early June:

  1. SUR/FIN is the only conference and trade show that focuses exclusively on the needs and concerns of the metal finishing industry. You will learn from hundreds of exhibitors who talk your language, and hear about the latest in technology.

  2. It will be a great place to see what’s new in the finishing industry—whether it is the latest in application processes and equipment, or the latest in new environmental and regulatory trends.

  3. We will have an excellent technical program for you to learn even more about surface finishing technology and best practices. That includes an intensive electroplating certification class; thorough anodizing training; an extensive list of specialty tracks on topics such as aerospace and automotive; and a half-day “Boot Camp” training course where those new to metal finishing can get a good overview knowledge of the industry.

  4. SUR/FIN provides outstanding networking opportunities. This is the only gathering of industry professionals and experts who discuss (both formally and informally) solutions that improve processes, product quality and overall efficiencies.

  5. We also have several unique forums, such as Products Finishing’s Top Shop awards, where nationally recognized plating shop owners share insights into how they overcame obstacles to make their businesses successful.

If surface finishing is your career and livelihood, then we encourage you to make plans to be in Chicago June 3-5. Come see, hear and meet others just like you who are coming to share ideas and success stories, and help problem solve any issues your operation may have.

SUR/FIN is the event for the finishing industry. Visit nasfsurfin.org for registration information. We look forward to seeing you there.
