The acquisition furthers Bel Air’s goal to develop and supply advanced dry process tumbling media.

Bel Air Finishing Supply Corp. (Kingstown, Rhode Island) has acquired the Dry Media Division of Associated Chemicals Co., adding to the former’s line of proprietary dry media blends. Bel Air’s synthetic dry media eliminates conventional wet tumbling and therefore is particularly appropriate for soft metals such as aluminum and brass as well as for processes where light deburring and surface refinement are required.

According to Bel Air President Steve Alviti, “Our dry media solutions can eliminate the expense of disposing vibratory effluent and wastewater disposal. As a result, our customers are dramatically reducing the cost of water and equipment used in conventional wet tumbling.”
