FANUC Demonstrates Flexible Robotic Painting Solutions at FABTECH

FANUC America demonstrated flexible robotic painting with its compact and powerful P-40iA paint robot at FABTECH 2018 in Atlanta this past week.   

The FANUC P-40iA robot is the latest in a series of painting robots designed and built by FANUC at the company’s Rochester Hills, Michigan, headquarters since 1982. The company says the robot is Ideal for a variety of painting and coating applications

At FABTECH, the P-40iA was equipped with the latest R-30iB Plus Mate controller and demonstrated painting of a metal part using coordinated motion to reach all its surfaces.

The company says the robot is extremely flexible and easily adapts to small lot sizes, new styles and other modifications, providing customers an affordable and versatile solution. Slim and lightweight, it also offers a variety of mounting positions, FANUC says, which is helpful for companies challenged with small and narrow workspaces. Other features and benefits include:
