James Goas, founder of Jim’s Plating Supply in 1970 and now known as JPS Technologies, celebrates his 90th birthday in February.

Goas started his career at Hamilton Cosco in Columbus, Indiana, in 1953 shortly after being discharged from the Army.  He worked for O.Ames Company in West Virginia in the plating shop, then moved into sales with Bill Young and Company.

Goas started his own business in 1970 as Jim’s Plating Supply in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Both of Jim’s children, Ken and Nancy, worked in the business and have since retired.  Lois, his wife of 63 years and now deceased, worked along his side to make his business venture a success. JPS Technologies will be celebrating 50 years in 2020 with its current owners: Bob Brandner, Doug Dopp and Jack Norris, all of whom Goas hired as salesmen.

Goas lives in South Carolina since his retirement in 1990.
