Plating Systems & Technologies Changes Hands
Plating Systems & Technologies has changed presidents, with David Rochester purchasing the business from founder Tom Rochester. Tom will remain as CTO.
Plating Systems & Technologies Inc. (PS&T; Jackson, Mich.), which was founded in 1985 by Tom Rochester, has announced that David Rochester has purchased the business. Tom will remain at PS&T as chief technology officer and chairman emeritus while David is now president and chief executive officer.
PS&T is a supplier of mechanical plating and galvanizing proprietaries, and says that it and its sister company Dynamic Systems LLC (Waukesha, Wis.) can provide mechanical platers or galvanizers with everything they need to create a successful metal finishing business.
Question: I am new to this industry and have heard about smut and desmutting operations.
Masking is employed in most any metal finishing operation where only a specifically defined area of the surface of a part must be exposed to a process. Conversely, masking may be employed on a surface where treatment is either not required or must be avoided. This article covers the many aspects of masking for metal finishing, including applications, methods and the various types of masking employed.
A primer on this inexpensive and highly efficient process.
