Exair’s Gen4 Super Ion Air Knife is designed to eliminate static electricity better at low inlet pressures, saving compressed air and improving production speeds, product quality and surface cleanliness. It eliminates static on plastics, webs, sheet stock and other surfaces on which tearing, jamming or hazardous shocks are a problem, the company says.

This model incorporates the company’s Super Air Knife, which minimizes compressed air use by inducing surrounding airflow at a ratio of 40 to 1. The amplified airflow carries the ions to the target, making it possible to eliminate static charges in less than a half-second, the company says. Air volume and velocity are controllable to gently wipe or forcefully blow away debris.

The units are available in lengths from 3" to 108", and feature a metal-armored high-voltage cable to protect against abrasion and cuts, integrated ground connection and electromagnetic shielding. They are operated by a selectable-voltage power supply.
