Applied Plastics’ Dupont Teflon coatings are formulated to help protect parts from steam, heat, chemicals and other corrosives. They can be electrostatically applied 0.0002" to 0.020" thick, depending on the coating and substrate. Standard formulations include Teflon PTFE, FEP, PFA, ETFE and ECTFE; Halar; Teflon S; Kynar; and Xylan. Custom formulations also are available.

The high-performance coatings can operate continuously at temperatures as high as 550ºF and can be used for intermittent service at temperatures as high as 600ºF with adequate ventilation. The only chemicals known to affect these coatings are molten alkali metals and highly reactive fluorinating agents, Applied Plastics says. Since Teflon finishes are both hydrophobic and oleophobic, cleanup is said to be easier and more thorough.
