Alesta RAL powders from Axalta Coating Systems are now formulated using a high-gloss hydroxyalkylamide (HAA) polyester chemistry instead of with TGIC polyesters.

Alesta RAL powders from Axalta Coating Systems are now formulated using a high-gloss hydroxyalkylamide (HAA) polyester chemistry instead of with TGIC polyesters. They offer improved weathering performance, charging (transfer efficiency), cure response and storage stability. The HAA-based powders meet or exceed AAMA 2603 specifications and are recommended for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Axalta believes the trend in North America will reflect a transition from TGIC-polyesters to HAA polyesters (TGIC-free) for two reasons: global companies' desire to standardize to one chemistry, and responsible care issues related to requirements for special labeling and/or warnings for TGIC-containing polyesters.
