W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore), has applied its award-winning polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) technology to a family of hydrophobic filters for the manufacture of bulk high-purity chemicals used in semiconductor and electronics fabrication. According to the company, these filters deliver an up to 200% improvement in flow over best-in-class filters with the same retention rating. This increased flow performance can be used to increase process capacity, decrease the number of filters needed, or as a drop-in retention upgrade that maintains system flow capacity. Filters are available in a pore size rating range from 0.1 to 0.03 µm.
