Ceramic long-wave infrared heaters in wattages up to 1500 W are said to have high emissivity, which ensures optimum radiant efficiency in coating, drying and other applications. Flat, trough, hollow and bulb styles are available in standard 230-W configurations with cast-in resistance wire heating elements. A glazed ceramic surface protects coils from corrosion and chemical contamination. Units can provide a temperature range from 300–730°C over an IR wavelength range of 2–10 µm. They can be supplied with aluminized steel reflectors to direct more heat to the target area.
