Coventya’s WaterCare Omega BP-4123 coagulant acts as an absorbent, a solids conditioner and a metal capture agent in treating zinc and iron phosphate process wastewater. It absorbs solids of phosphate and other surfactants/wetters; it neutralizes net anionic charges, forming a “micorfloc” in system neutralization tanks; and, upon pH adjustment, it captures both zinc and iron residuals from the process stream.

According to the company, the advantage of using the product over aluminum- or aluminum/polymer-based products with lime as a pH control is that it requires smaller dosage due to the phosphate affinity of aluminum vs. iron, and it is caustic compatible, reducing sludge demand.
