Dymax Corp.’s SpeedMask 734-BT ultraviolet/visible light-curable masking resin is formulated to protect surfaces during grit blast, plating, acid etch and stripping operations. The resin is said to be impervious to most acid and alkali solutions, and, when cured, protects from chemical processing of nickel alloys, steel, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and glass.

SpeedMask 734-BT can be applied by spraying, is easily trimmed without lifting, and peels off quickly after processing, enabling greater throughput, Dymax says. It also can be used in place of environmentally hazardous solvent- or water-based maskants as a temporary protective coating.
