ENviro-coat is an electroless nickel plating that complies with the END-of-Life Vehicle Directive. In order to be compliant with the Directive, coatings must be free of hazardous metals such as lead, cadmium and chrom. The coating's chemistry uses alternative constituents to achieve the characteristics provided by lead and cadmium in conventional EN plating processes. Solution Stability and brightness have been said to be duplicated with organic stabilizers and non-hazardous bath components. This mid-phorphorus plate is designed to maintain the performance qualities of traditional EN plate, but without lead and camium that can harm the environment when products are discarted. The plate's smooth, bright finish is said be an ideal alternative to decorative chrome plating for many applications.
