Cortec’s VpCI-126 film and bag technology is designed to simplify corrosion protection for parts during storage and shipment. Manufacturers can wrap parts in VpCI-126 bags, possibly add some VpCI emitters (depending on package size or expected conditions), and close the bags for protection. According to the company, the VpCI-126 film and bags contain vapor phase corrosion inhibitors that form a protective molecular layer on metal surfaces inside the enclosed packages.

Cortec says the protective layer does not require special cleaning or degreasing before using the parts. The company says that the film provides continuous protection against salt, excessive humidity, condensation, moisture, aggressive industrial atmospheres and dissimilar metal corrosion; and protects against all types of corrosion, including rust, tarnish, stains, white rust and oxidation for up to five years. VpCI-126 is heat sealable and can be used with manual or automated heat-seal packaging equipment, and comes in a variety of formats.
