ToxSorb’s selective filtration technology effectively absorbs and removes chromium in the metal finishing applications. The company’s Modified Activated Carbon (MAC) media selectively absorb and reduce hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium without adding chemicals such as sodium bisulfite or sulfuric acid to the water supply. This dynamic sharply diminishes the overall salinity of the water, significantly reducing the overall volume of sludge produced and hauled away for treatment, according to the company. The resulting product is DI-quality water, which can be reused directly in the plating and washing process to improve the quality of the finished product. Zero-liquid discharge eliminates the need to purchase new water and dispose of wastewater to the sewer system.
