A line of flexible cotton fiber impregnated abrasive grinding discs for the light grinding and blending of welds on contoured surfaces is available from Rex-Cut Products. Cut-N-Finish Discs are constructed of multiple layers of cotton fiber that are fully impregnated with aluminum oxide abrasives and pressed and bonded together to constantly expose fresh abrasives as they work. Pressed into a waffle pattern that runs cool, they are offered in a flexible bond that, according to the company, can easily follow contoured surfaces for the light grinding and blending of MIG and TIG welds on tanks and vessels in one step. Capable of producing a 32 RMS finish on stainless steel and non-loading on aluminum, the discs are said to last up to 20× longer than flap and resin fiber discs.
