UPA Technology introduces its PhotoThermal coatings measurement instrument by Optisense using laser and infrared to non-destructively measure organic coatings previously unmeasurable by any other method, the company says. PhotoThermal measurement is both non-destructive, non-contacting and measures wet or dry films as well as cured or uncured powder coatings.

Typical uses include measurement of corrosion resistant coatings on brake rotors, uncured/cured powder coatings, EPDM rubber and flocking on automotive door and window seals. The instrument can measure coatings including organics, primers, adhesives, lacquer and paint on stainless, glass, ceramic metal or wood.
