Houghton International Inc.’s zero-discharge system is designed to eliminate all process water discharge from spray washers, combining its Houghto-Clean, Houghto-Prep ZP and Houghto-Seal technologies, which provide low conductivity in processing baths. This combination of low bath solids is key to reducing the volume of incoming water normally associated with traditional conversion coating processes, the company says. All the chemistry also is designed for maximum oil rejection in order to facilitate longer bath life and easier removal of accumulating soil.
