National Surface Finishing Day 2025
Products Finishing visited two Cincinnati finishing shops on March 5 to celebrate National Surface Finishing Day.
March 5, 2025, was National Surface Finishing Day (NSFD), a day to celebrate the invaluable contributions of the surface finishing community to manufacturing. Surface technology plays a critical role in almost everything touched by humans. For that, we can thank many talented, hardworking people (like you) in the field of powder coating, electroplating, paint, anodizing, as well as equipment and material suppliers who are the backbone of this industry.
Lori Beckman, executive editor of Products Finishing (PF), and Todd Luciano, brand VP, PF and Valve Media, visited two local finishing shops in Cinicinnati for this year’s NSFD: Varland Plating, a family-owned barrel plating job shop since 1946, and Powder Coating Specialty, a 37-year-old powder coating, sand blasting and ceramic coating shop.
