Wall Colmonoy (Madison Heights, Michigan) announces its Fall 2022 sessions of Modern Furnace Brazing School, which is returning after a three-year hiatus.

The dates of the two schools are:

  • European Brazing School: 8-10 November 2022 at Wall Colmonoy’s European Headquarters in Pontardawe, Wales

In areas such as heat transfer, aerospace, automotive and medical, engineers are turning to brazing to achieve designs that push conventional limits, according to the company. The advantage of brazing in modern manufacturing is the ability to achieve high-strength joints in components involving ever more challenging base materials and complex geometries. This is said to be a great advantage over welding which suffers from distortion, stresses, design limitations and a heat-effected zone.

At Modern Furnace Brazing School, engineers, technicians, quality managers, production managers and others will participate in “hands-on” practical applications while learning about brazing technology from the industry’s leading brazing engineers. As brazing experts, Wall Colmonoy engineers work on the most advanced brazing projects across many industries. For over 70 years, Wall Colmonoy engineers have been at the forefront of actual problems in brazing plants around the world.

This three-day seminar offers knowledge and practical application on brazing design, metallurgical aspects/brazing operation, brazing atmosphere and furnace equipment, brazing material and applications, quality control and next-generation brazing case studies.

Unlike other classroom-only seminars, Brazing School attendees will tour the facility and see the application of brazing alloys on the shop floor. They will also have the opportunity to apply different forms of filler metal to supplied samples, have them vacuum brazed and discuss the outcomes.

Wall Colmonoy says it leading brazing engineers have the technical know-how and practical experience to guide attendees through the brazing process from beginning to end production.
