Columbus Industries, a global provider of air filtration products for indoor residential and commercial applications, has joined Filtration Group, an affiliate of Madison Industries. Columbus Industries claims its air filters, which are manufactured to enable the highest efficiency with the lowest pressure drop, further enhances Filtration Group's portfolio of indoor air filtration solutions to ensure safe, clean air for its customers.

Columbus Industries' air filters are said to deliver enhanced performance to customers' HVAC systems, air purifiers and indoor air quality systems by providing clean air to those indoors. The company's range of branded and private label filters are focused on the highest minimum-efficiency-reporting-values (MERV) ratings and high-efficiency-particulate-absorbing requirements. Columbus Industries says its team is focused on creating innovative solutions to help fight the largest global environmental health risk: air pollution.

Eric Pontious, executive vice president of Columbus Industries, stated, “After nearly 40 years with Columbus, I can confidently say we have found the perfect partner to bring our customers an even higher level of service and support. I could not be prouder to partner with the Filtration Group team to make the world safer, healthier and more productive.”

Filtration Group's CEO, Tim McCarty, adds that Columbus Industries’ “vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities and its proprietary in-house media provide faster lead times, greater flexibility and higher quality to its customers and channel partners.”

The NASF-AESF Foundation Research Board has selected a project on addressing the problem of PFAS and related chemicals in plating wastewater streams, studying PFAS destruction via electrooxidation and electrocoagulation.  This sixth quarter report covers the continued assessment of eight perfluoroalkyl acids PFAAs most commonly found in wastewaters, by electro-oxidation with a Magnéli phase Ti4O7 anode across a range of anodic potentials in solutions, exploring the reaction mechanisms.  To summarize, the PFAAs start to exhibit degradation behavior when the anodic potential reaches a level where water oxidation occurs, suggesting that the hydroxyl free radicals generated via water oxidation play a role in PFAA degradation.
