Acid Etch Creates Decorative Matte Finish on Aluminum

Chemetall says Gardo Etch 8315/8316 produces this finish at lower temperatures with less metal removal than alkaline etch products.

Chemetall, the surface treatment global business unit of BASF Coatings, will exhibit a portfolio of finishing operation products at FABTECH 2018, including new Gardo Etch and Tech Cool products.

Gardo Etch 8315/8316 is an acid etch product formulated to create a decorative bright, yet matte finish on aluminum. It produces this finish at lower temperatures with less metal removal than alkaline etch products, the company says.

Tech Cool 35058 is a premium machining fluid developed specifically for applications requiring superior micro-finishes on ferrous alloys, low- and high-carbon steels, titanium, molybdenum, and tough alloys. Tech Cool 35037 is a general-purpose machining and grinding fluid developed specifically for applications requiring efficient and economical performance on aluminum and copper alloys.
