AkzoNobel Powder Coatings (Reading, Pennsylvania) has developed a portfolio of powder coatings, Interpon ACE, for the agricultural and construction sectors. According to the company, the powder coatings are more sustainable and higher performing than other coating solutions on the market. The Interpon ACE range is specifically designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, chemical corrosion and scratching and abrasion.

The full range includes both ACE primers and ACE topcoats working in combination. To meet mechanical requirements, all of the powder coatings in the range have adhesion, hardness, flexibility and impact resistance that reportedly meets or exceeds industry standards to ensure that the equipment is protected long term and retains a quality appearance.

The new Interpon ACE range is designed to be an alternative to more traditional liquid coatings solutions due to its performance characteristics and sustainability benefits. The coatings are free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and can help reduce carbon footprints. During the application process, the layering can reportedly be reduced from traditionally three coats to two, or even a single coat, which contributes to a lower cost per unit as well as less waste. The coatings are said to be easy to apply and have improved edge coverage.
