While there is some sun reflection on the roof of that MINI 3 door, know that the color change from the front of the vehicle to the rear is actually a painted color gradient, from Aspen White to Melting Silver II to Jet Black.

During the past few years, vehicle roofs with a contrasting color to the body have become something of a minor trend.
MINI, however, has long used not only used two colors for the roof and body panels, but has actually offered roofs painted with the Union Jack.
It has now launched what it calls the “Multitone Roof,” which is made possible by the wet-on-wet painting process, called “Spray Tech,” that is used in the assembly plant in Oxford, England.
An example of this gradient approach has the front section above the windshield painted Aspen White, which then morphs to a grey called Melting Silver II, and finally, at the rear section is Jet Black.
According to MINI, this paint execution is exclusive to the brand.
And a Rainbow, Too
In addition to which, there are six partially curved white lines painted on top of the gradient that arc back from the front of the vehicle to the top of the rear spoiler. MINI describes it as a “Rainbow,” although it is a mono-color execution,
The MINI Multitone Edition is available on three models, the MINI 3-door, MINI 5-door and MINI Clubman.
However, it is worth noting that the MINI Clubman with the gradient roof is available with an Indian Summer Red body and the other two with Sage Green.
After all, these are mass-market cars and there’s only so much time that can be spent in the paint booth.
