PPG will highlight three of its powder coatings for the office furniture industry at NeoCon 2021, which takes place Oct. 4-6 at The Mart in Chicago, Ill.

From booth 7-4053, PPG will showcase its color-formulation and color-matching expertise, as well as its range of gloss levels, textures and metallic finishes. Featured products at PPG’s booth include PPG Silversan, PPG Envirocron HeatSense and PPG Ergoluxe coatings.

Shelley Verdun, PPG’s business manager, powder, Americas, says the coatings in PPG’s booth will offer “a range of luxurious colors and finishes, and benefits that include reclaimable overspray, recycled content and high transfer efficiency.”

According to the company, PPG ErgoLuxe powder coatings provide styling and sustainability benefits over traditional liquid or solvent-based coatings, with waste-saving, first-pass transfer efficiency rates of up to 85%. In addition, the PPG ErgoLuxe Eco formulation contains up to 14% post-industrial recycled plastic (rPET). PPG says the new powder coating technology also features reliable batch-to-batch consistency for color, gloss and application properties, with stain and fade resistance designed to last for years.

PPG Envirocron HeatSense coatings work with heat-sensitive substrates, including wood composites and metals that are often used as office furniture, cabinetry, casework and more. The coatings are available in a range of custom colors, glosses and textures, with sealed edges that provide protection from heat, moisture, physical impacts and ultraviolet light.

Also on display will be the PPG SilverSan coating, an antimicrobial-protected powder coating specifically formulated with silver ions that help protect the cured paint film from the growth of microbes that can damage coated surfaces. The coatings can be formulated in many colors and in all PPG resin chemistries to prevent discoloration, unpleasant odors and corrosion caused by the buildup of bacteria on coated surfaces.
