Norton Buffing Wheels Eliminate Need for Buffing Compound
Fixed Abrasive Buff wheels are tear resistant, waterproof and durable, providing significantly longer life than traditional cotton buffs.
Norton FAB buffing wheels
Norton Saint-Gobain Abrasives’ fixed abrasive buff (FAB) buffing wheels are designed to virtually eliminate the need to use buffing compounds. The design is said to incorporate abrasive grains into the buffing wheel which result in single digit Ra values ranging from 1 to 5 Ra. The company says the FAB wheels are tear resistant, waterproof and durable, providing significantly longer life than traditional cotton buffs, and result in a more efficient, cleaner and safer way of buffing. The wheels are said to be effective on hard alloys as well as soft metals such as aluminum and brass, and are available in outer diameters from 5” to 22”.
