PPG’s (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) AmerLock 600 is a two-component, high-build, multipurpose polyamide-cured coating. According to PPG, the coating is ideal for fabrication shops and maintenance applications, and its compatibility with a wide range of substrates provides great flexibility. The product is said to exhibit low-VOC (240 g/L), fast dry times and durability.

PPG AmerLock 600 is formulated to be user friendly in shops and in the field. PPG’s 1:1 mix ratio and fast dry times enable easier mixing and high throughput during shop applications, as well as minimal downtime in the field for less disruptions during maintenance.

PPG says its one year recoat window means that the coating works for applicators’ schedules, and the coating reportedly provides high performance and is easy to work with.

PPG AmerLock 600 is said to work with a wide range of substrates and surface preparations. It can be applied to marginally prepared steel surfaces, which helps reduce inventory and complexity, as one coating can be applied to many situations.

PPG AmerLock 600 is designed to offer a wide range of protection up to C5 environments as a primer in two-coat systems, as well as an intermediate coat in a typical three-coat system.
